What distinguishes the Salzburg Marionette Theatre from other theatres? That the marionettes are the protagonists on stage! And that the people are behind – or rather, above it all. While down on the stage the artfully crafted and detailed marionettes perform plays, fairy tales, musicals and operas, it’s the skilled puppeteers two metres above them who guide all their movements with a special technique, each on twelve strings. The puppeteers, having mastered this unique method, bring the marionettes miraculously to life. Due to this special performance technique, the Salzburg Marionette Theatre has been included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

For the development of the website, we placed the topic of tickets and ticket sales in the front and most prominent row. The next performances are clearly displayed, being not only directly linked to the booking platform but also offering further information on the synopsis of the play as well as its music and cast. Atmospheric scenes create a fine backdrop with subtle animations of the marionette threads, which run unobtrusively in variation through the website like a graphical thread. Curtain up!
