Synthetizing Love (2023)
In this case I designed and created character sprites for my own game. As it's still a demo, some characters only have a handful of different expressions.
There isn't much to say on the creative process to be honest, as I already had pretty clear ideas:
- The main character and her two friends had been designed years ago and simply needed new outfits to match their personalities and general color schemes.
- For the three love interests, I first wrote down some of their main personality traits and then worked from there. As they only wear their work clothes in the demo, I didn't think much and gave them generic outfits that would still fit their respective jobs (McDonald's cashier, bookstore clerk and animal shelter volunteer).
- Finally, Professor Pascal needed to look his age, first of all. I generally have some difficulties drawing older people but I played around with different hairstyles and beards to find something that would work, noticing that grey hair definitely helped.
The only thing I was sure about is that he needed to wear a weird shirt, one way or another, to show that he's not as cold as he looks and actually is an approachable teacher and person in general.
I even made some CGs for the game and these are just a few of them. I tried to challenge myself with perspective, new subjects and lighting.

UNNAMED PROJECT
This project is a horror visual novel on which I have worked with two other people. I worked on character design, sprites and UI. The project has been put on undefinite hiatus.
It was my first time working on sprites for other people, so there are a lot more sketches than usual, and it was also a real challenge. I rarely ever draw men or anything that isn't human, so I worked really hard to deliver designs and sprites that I could be proud to show off in a video game.
It took a lot of work and effort but at the same it was also an important learning experience, both on a personal and professional level.
