PAMM displays Silueta Works in Mexico by Ana Mendieta. Silueta Works in Mexico is a series of paintings that depict archetypal female silhouettes inspired by Mexican culture. Feminist artist Ana Mendieta created this series in the 1970s during her trips to Oaxaca, Mexico. She calls the series "earth-body sculptures" due to the characteristic placement of artistic female figures in natural landscapes and ancient site backdrops and the integration of natural elements such as water, earth, fire, and flowers.

Ana Mendieta explored goddess iconography, drawing inspiration from the ritual practices of ancient cultures in the Americas, Africa, and Europe. Her Silueta Works in Mexico is a component of PAMM's Latin American collections.
