The King who never was - Il Principe

A docuseries by Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi
This docuseries sheds light on the killing of a German teenager in '78 through the accounts of his sister and the royal family involved in the case.

A prince in exile, a top model, a gunshot in the dark that changed the lives of so many people, for generations to come. Starting with the events that happened on the tragic night of August 18, 1978 at Cavallo Island, Traces the story of Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia, the last heir to the throne of Italy. As much as the judicial affair of the murder of the young Dirk Hamer is central to the prince's life and consequently to the docuseries, episode after episode, a more intimate tale emerges of him: his troubled relationship with his parents, his love story with Marina Doria, his years working in Iran, his scandals and much more.

For this docuseries I've chosen to shoot the interviews in digital, with a beautiful Cooke zoom 11-110 T2.2, and the vintage suggestions in Super 16 mm, with the glorious Arri 416, using Kodak stocks, mostly 7203, to ehnance the richness and the contrast of the summer sun in Corsica and Sardinia.
