There were twelve of us... there were many more of us... We lived together and shared everything there was... the good and the bad... When there was more space we shared... if the chains let us get there... if there was food we didn't share because the hunger was too much. We fought for it... as long as the chains let us get there... there were no leashes... the chains slipped through our skin until they hurt us... we would like to use pretty words like they do in the movies but there are no adjectives... There was almost no food... no hope... we shared the space, the fear, the fleas... Many disappeared...others died...others stayed there...we were a family...one day people came and eased our chains, gave us food and tried to touch us...it was strange because it was something we didn't know...to touch without hurting... There were twelve of us. There were twelve of us. Twelve terrified dogs that got out of a hell thanks to a shelter and the precious help of the police. Many remained... many remain... in our place, in the other places... as long as they are not denounced... as long as the voices that want to scream do not gain the courage we need for them to speak of us. We were twelve... the fleas came out... the bodies began to gain weight and some gained families... There were twelve of us and now there are six of us. It could be a Hollywood movie but it's just our life. We are at the shelter right now and we are looking for the ending of the movie of each of us because we were victims, we were rescued, we are animals and we deserve our happy ending. Can you help us?
