In 1972 a swimming pool was built in Dagenham, London, and for 39 years it was used and enjoyed by the local community. Nike 6.0 trasformed it... and it became a beatiful skatepark!!!
Nike 6.0 The Pool ended up being one of the best contest I have ever been to... not only from a riding standpoint with crazy tricks, but also the vibe was electric, the design of the park... Great colors, architecture, a old pool transformed into a amazing BMX park.
A Facebook campaign, which has over 3,000 supporters, all hoping that the project will continue. For now the local community will have to be satisfied that when it does finally shut, Nike will donate many of the bikes it has used to local schools and community groups, and there's also talk of using some of the park's timber to furnish an alternative BMX venue in the area.
