NATURAL VERSATILITY
The concept behind this range of papers is ‘natural versatility’. My aim was to promote the naturalness of Woodstock by creating a simple yet expressive calendar. The poem, ‘The Garden Year’ by Sarah Coleridge, provides the basis for a twelve month natural cycle, using the concentric circle as a vehicle to convey versatility throughout the year, which creates interest and intrigue. I designed and created my own embossing plates, which were laser cut and then used in the production of the calendar. Embossing and die-cutting techniques were chosen as a means to promote the versatility of the Woodstock range and highlight the paper’s tactile quality.
