SOMEWHERE OUT THERE
I share with you a collection of photographs I took this spring.
All my works are made outdoors, with natural light.
I hope you like them.

The gear I use in this type of photography is:
Canon EOS 80D
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro Lens

Befree Advances GT XPRO tripod
(I try to always use the tripod)
"The good life"
As the song says, "the good life, full of fun seems to be the ideal". Sometimes fun is about peaceful moments like the one shown in that sunset when I went to a meadow full of poppies. I hope this image makes you feel the good life.
"I got that sunshine in my pocket"
A couple of days ago I went out with my camera to a pine forest near my house. For every step I took, little white insects were flying out of the grass. I thought they were baby grasshoppers, but when I focused on one with my lens I saw that it was a very small white moth, its wingspan is about 11mm, this one here is even smaller.
Its name is Elachista argentella or commonly called Swan-feather Dwarf.
I think I like its common name better. It is beautiful, cute... I don't know, maybe lovely?
"Lights and shadows"
The eye is always caught by light, but shadows have more to say. -Gregory Maguire-
"That early morning light"
I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning. -J. B. Priestley-
Perhaps it is this latter that I most like to believe in, that there is "a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning".
"Sunset whispers"
There is a meadow near home that is full of charm, filled with wildflowers, beetles, grasshoppers, butterflies and moths.
As I slowly and quietly creep into the bushes with my camera, I can hear the birds chattering, the sound of the breeze brushing against the grass, and why not, the arguments that some insects may have to determine who will get that soft spike or flower petal to nestle in for the night.
"Taking different paths"
So naive these little bees look, but they attack in groups or gangs aggressively, perhaps because they feel threatened... I learned this from my own experience. I have a theory that if you don't bother an insect in the wild, it won't show interest in you. But these kinds of bees ignore that theory :)

"New beginning"
The true face of spring is beginning to show. Wild lavenders, are one of my favorite flowers, and this one in particular looked like it felt like me at that moment, that is, surrounded by big, beautiful clouds.
The funny thing about this sky effect is that it is just the reflection of the morning light on the bushes and gaps that were behind it. I hope you like it.
"A whole new world"
Beautiful baby grasshopper.
I can't help but feel tenderness for these shy little creatures.
"A brand new day"
This image has been stored on my computer's hard drive for some time. It is from the time I used to go out with my camera and there were always several insects, maybe many, that crossed between me and my lens, but times change and they are not always for the better.
I hardly ever see insects on my photo walks, and this doesn't bother me just for me, but for the birds who can't find food for themselves and their little ones.
I have learned over time, that I must take responsibility for the small part of the world around me, and let others do their own thing according to their conscience.
We must let go of our worries, and enjoy the signs of love that nature still sends us today.
"Tales from my garden"
At the back of my plot violets have bloomed. For me they are very difficult flowers to photograph, but yesterday evening, the light was soft and beautiful and I decided to insist on them. Suddenly I saw that on the violet leaves, there were a couple of tiger moth caterpillars. I think, out of my own conviction, that caterpillars are another very difficult creatures to photograph. In my photos they always look ungraceful. So yesterday I took it as "the evening of challenges".
Between the photos of flowers and the caterpillar, I definitely chose the caterpillar, those little hairs illuminated by the last rays of light seemed cute, or at least funny.
"Tiny dancer"
This type of small flies that feed on the flower nectar, are called "dance flies", because the males during the mating season perform an aerial dance to the females, carrying gifts between their legs. They usually carry small insects that have hunted for the ladies. The one who carries the most charming and beautiful gift will be the one who gets to keep her love..... Isn't it a romantic and adorable story? (And it doesn't mean that we women are materialistic at all) :))
"Lady spring"
I'm talking about the ladybug, of course. Behind-the-scenes story: I have a neighbor friend with whom I share the love of photography. Yesterday when she was coming home from work, she phoned me to come out the door, because she was bringing me some peonies to photograph.
For me peonies are extremely beautiful flowers, but very difficult to photograph because I feel that I control the tiny world and not the medium world. Anyway, here is my own interpretation of one of the peonies.
"Blooming"
The violet, the flower that conquers winter.
"Fragility"
Misty days, cobwebs, dew, light and falling drops :)
