K-12 Project-Based Learning

K-12 Project Based Learning
Part of the Education Revolution
This was a year long research, community participation and design project to understand the impact of
project-based learning in the K-12 public school and how it motivates and captures the students' interest
for lasting knowledge.

My starting inspiration for this project was from Sir Ken Robinson's TED Talk.
He challenges the way we are educating our children and believes in cultivating
"creativity and acknowledging multiple types of intelligence."
At the same time during my initial leap into tackling this project, Waiting for Superman
came out in the theaters along with various conversations about how Math and Science
scores can be improved in the American school system.

Below is the final book. The design was purely inspired by Charles and Ray Eames starting with their house of cards to represent the links between the community, from teachers, students, and parents. House Industry came out with an Eames font that was perfect for this project for its large family and playful but bold personality. The geometric approach to the design layout is the best solution for this subject matter.
