THE HEADPHONE HOLDER
By: Bailey Henderson

Description:
My project is a functional stand that easily holds a pair of headphones. It is made of wood, acrylic, 3D-printed material, and Arduino software. This product is not your ordinary headphone holder. It lights up and changes colors! Some of the light-up patterns include a solid color, bouncing brightness, three solid colors, three alternating colors, and a rainbow gradient.

Purpose:
The purpose behind the creation of this product was my need for something to hold my headphones on my desk. I did not have a dedicated place to put them, so I often just placed them on top of my computer or somewhere else on my desk. The final product did a great job of serving this function while also looking aesthetically pleasing. I really love how it fits in with my current setup. Overall, I am super happy with how it turned out!

User Testing:
The user testing was completed using a series of questions and tasks. The main focus of the user testing was to ensure that people would know the function of the product and find out their experience with technology.

Process:
The steps behind the finished product include a series of different prototypes. I first created an initial concept sketch. Afterward followed, the prototypes including a cardboard prototype, a functional prototype, and an aesthetic prototype. For the cardboard prototype, I focused mainly on the shape of what I wanted my finished product to look like. I was also in the process of creating a 3D model in Fusion360 that I would later be using for the aesthetic prototype. The functional prototype consisted of making sure I could get the LEDs to react to a button and implementing all the different color patterns. The aesthetic prototype combined the form and the function to get an almost complete project. All that was left was a few minor improvements to the overall structure.
