مهرجان ساما الدولي للموسيقى هو مشروع فني موسيقي لإحياء الثقافة الموسيقية الحديثة والتقليدية في السودان. هدف المهرجان في عام 2021 إلى دعم المشهد الموسيقي في السودان من خلال التركيز على إدخال أدوات الموسيقى الرقمية، ودمج الجوانب الرقمية للتغلب على التحديات المادية للتعلم والحوار بين الثقافات، وتوفير منصات رقمية للعروض الموسيقية، وقُدم المهرجان تحت موضوع «التحول الرقمي.»
الاسم المقترح لمهرجان العام كان «وَصلة ووُصلة.» وَصلة بالفتحة تعني «كل ما يصل بين شيئين؛» أي أن التحول الرقمي يوفر منصات جديدة تسهل التواصل بين الموسيقيين والجمهور، وتعبر عن الموسيقى كوصلة بين الناس. أما وُصلة بالضمة تعني «مجموعة من النوتات التي تُعزف كمقطع موسيقيّ واحد.» الاسم يشير إلى أن المهرجان سيعكس تصورًا جديداً لتذوق الموسيقى بشكل معاصر وبأشكالها الحالية من الموسيقى الرقمية والموسيقى الحية.
تشتمل الرسوم التوضيحية للملصق على أدوات موسيقية سودانية تقليدية مثل الطنبور، وآلات موسيقية حديثة، وعناصر من الوسائط الرقمية، لتعزيز مفهوم التعايش بين الثقافات التقليدية والحديثة.
تكفلت بتصميم مقترح الشعار والملصق الرسمي للمهرجان. وللأسف في ذلك العام توقف العمل على المهرجان وألغي في آخر المطاف بسبب أحداث جائحة كورونا.
SAMA International Music Festival is a project that aims to promote traditional and contemporary Sudanese music by highlighting the diverse spectrum of Sudan’s cultural landscape. In 2021, SAMA unravels its activities in a new hybrid digital form to mitigate the massive digital transformation emerging in the world. It aimed to support the music scene in Sudan by focusing on introducing digital music tools and integrating the digital aspects, under the theme of “Digital transformation.”
The festival's suggested name, "Wasla & Wusla," carries a symbolic meaning. Wasla refers to the connection between musicians and their audiences facilitated by digital transformation, while Wusla represents a group of notes played as a single piece of music, reflecting the festival's aim to showcase a contemporary perception of music through digital and live music forms.
The illustrations in the poster blend traditional Sudanese instruments such as Tanbur, modern musical instruments, and digital elements to highlight the concept of coexistence between traditional and modern cultures.
I was responsible for designing the official logo and poster proposal. However, the festival was unfortunately canceled that year due to the pandemic.
