Quick Disconnect fittings can make assembling hoses and equipment a simple and time effective task.  One potential downside to these devices is that they can provide opportunities for accidental disconnection.  Our team experienced a situation where connections carrying coolant were unknowingly disconnected.  This problem created a large mess, production losses and potential safety concerns for the team members.  To prevent this incident from happening again, we considered replacing the connections and repiping everything.  Doing this would have corrected the issue, but would have cost a lot of money and downtime on the machine.

In the interest of time, I designed a cover that would side over the existing connection and only allow disconnection with the aid of a tool or Allen key.  Now, no parts needed to be replaced and the connection / disconnection process can only be completed with deliberate actions.  The covers were 3D printed in different colors to provide a visual distinction between different supply lines.
