Maciej Gołyźniak Trio "Marianna". Graphic design of the cd release and magnotophone cassette. Maciej Gołyźniak is a session drummer known for his work with Monika Brodka, Natalia Nykiel, Sorry Boys or Lion Shepherd. This is Maciek's second album of original music. As in the case of his debut "Orchid', which appeared in the famous "Polish Jazz" series, here too we are presented with jazz in a very accessible, intimate and warm form.
The photograph for the cover was taken by Wiktor Franko and the photographs documenting the studio work on the album by Radek Zawadzki. In the photographs which form the visual basis of the publication, the musician refers to his fascination with Stanisław Lem's literature. The album is also a tribute to a person close to Maciek - his late grandmother. The project task was to select and dress the photographic material in a form that would be a story of sorts. An intimate story both about the emotions of the creators and documenting the creation of the album.
In terms of colour, we opted for distinctive but at the same time unobvious colours, colours which emphasise the author's personality and the character of the music, but which at the same time deal with the themes of the album - longing, passing, distant journeys into the unknown.
At the typographical level, we opted for timeless elegance. The Didot typeface is used in both elegant, classy but also very modern designs. It is a timeless elegance that the musician identifies with.
The drummer's trio consists of: Robert Szydło (bass), Łukasz Damrych (piano/synth) and Łukasz Korybalski (trumpet, flugelotn). The album's opening track features guest saxophone player Zbigniew Namysłowski, a legend of polish and international jazz scene. This is one of his last recordings.
The above images are not mockups. They are actual photos of the disc and cassette. It is good to interact with real objects, including music CDs, vinyl, cassettes and not just virtual ones. The music of Maciej Gołyźniak Trio is palpable, it fills the space fantastically, moreover, it is exceptionally recorded, which is confirmed by high notes in audiophile magazines.
