A new design for the Kaodes project, a post apocalyptical game project with a gameplay similar to Pokemon. It's the evolution of the mechamosquito, branded with the idea of Earth exploitation by men.
I had a more precise idea of the general shape I wanted so I made most of the versionning at the shape step. As the first one was a swift mosquito with a needle to absorb or inject liquids, this one has a big belly full of radioactive stuff.
I designed the legs as pipes to drain the liquid from the Earth. I choose a canon similar to a bazooka. This monster was supposed to be part organic part mecanical so the abdomen is similar to a mosquito. When it is full it is squishy and fragile so there are rusty blocks to protect it. It reinforces the impression this monster was made by men.
I tried to be quicker in the color research. Green goo, rust and steel was the most obvious choice to transmit the thematic of environnement destruction by industry. I also wanted to keep a unity with the first state of evolution of this monster.
Kaodes are creatures born from men thought after the end of the world. I like the idea of this wrecked mutant monster, heritage from ressources exploitation, coming to throw radioactive goo at our faces.
