Studio Erwin Zwiers introduces a new series of bowls, ‘Twisted Bowls’. The inspiration for these series came from the material used, namely bend plywood. This type of plywood is perfect to bend, when it’s properly processed, so the forming capabilities are endless. The flexibility of the material invites to make organic forms.

The bowls are built from an initial shape, which is the bottom of the bowl. Against this original shape, bend plywood is wrapped, so that during the construction of the bowl it will grow step by step. During this process the bowls are created. In advance it can’t be determined what form eventually will come out. These series consists of bowls that are all unique for itself. Everything is handmade, which makes no bowl the same.
