Crimes Exemplares

A transmedia academic project to develop an editorial and a multimedia object from a historically relevant work. "Crimes Exemplares", by Max Aub is a literary work that doesn't fit into just one category, the book consists of various small texts that report various crimes with the main perpetrator telling who and why they commit the act of murder, they all consider to have good justifications.
Most acts were made in a very impulsive way, without thinking about ethics and consequences, and told in a very comic way.

EDITORIAL OBJECT
Every story had a very memorable character: the murderer. It was easy to attribute them a name and imagine a figure and the objects in the scene. We made tarot inspired cards based on these characters, using the title, character, and objects in the scene.
To illustrate the verse of the cards, we chose to use the eyes of the people who were photographed as murderers. The player would pick a card based on the impact of the killer's eyes, using the analogy of the "third eye", which refers to the mystical aspect of the tarot.
As a kind of mystical game, the player distributes the cards face down on the table and chooses the one that strikes them the most. The character is revealed when the card is turned over. Using the number in the card, the player needs to look in the book for the confession corresponding to the card. Revealing how their death will be.
MULTIMEDIA OBJECT
To improve the editorial object, we made a poster relative to each eye, and the viewer could have fun with a poster hunting game to collect the posters. Therefore, each poster has a different QR code, corresponding to his murder story and the criminal's image.
Each code leads the player to a page, they can hear the confession being played and the text accompanying the audio.
