Idea
The form of a wheel hubcap is used to convey the principle of rotation and express the dynamic movement of a car.
Logo
The logo of Autoterpė, UAB is set in typeface Motter Ombra. Created by Austrian designer Othmar Motter of Vorarlberger Grafik in 1972 and distributed by Berthold Fototypes (as film type) and Letraset (as dry-transfer type). The official digitization by Motter Fonts (2008) was made with the help of Jan Kammann.
Symbol
Depicts opposite, but interconnected, forces. Motter’s letter ‘o’ is rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise and paired with the same letter rotated 90 degrees clockwise to form a rotational feature symbolising absolute and infinite potential, comparable with the ancient symbol for yin and yang.
Logotype
Symbol combined with logo form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts.
