ZET ROCK’S Peanuts

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE CONCEPT AND VISUAL IDENTITY

ZET ROCK’S is one of the existing private label brands. A flavor coated peanuts range produced exclusively for the supermarket chain operating in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Bulgaria.

The aim of this project was to create an eye catching package for new coated peanuts packaging called ZET ROCK’S! (cheezy shots, onion balls, wasabi bombs and papri pomps). There was a main objective: to put order and to improve their visibility and to minimize the time in the shopping decision. I was tasked with creating a design which is aiming to become the cheapest product.

I chose to draw attention to the large and ever-changing pattern by developing an icon system for all graphic elements and colours for all the individual flavors. A minimalistic approach to the package design allows for the focus to be on the brand.
The solution is based:
- In the functional use of colours, which helps to identify the different ranges of products.
- A clear and very legible typography. The extra-condensed variation proves particularly useful to maintain legibility while packing more characters into a certain space. It has elements of both an old style and transitional face.
- Clear hand drawing pictures of the nuts, which facilitate the identification.
- Outstanding patterns.
- Limited color palette.
- Rhythmical complexity.
Design forms based on rhythm, proportion and harmony.

The result is a fresh and joyful panoply of Modern, Retro and Postmodern pastiche. Packaging design has something to catch the eye. The content and design mix together, similar curves are used on the outside as well. Content become design and they stand in synchrony. So the whole design becomes a mixed metaphor of the product.
