POXE - Building Toy 2018
WHAT? I collaborated with the interior architect Réka Dobor to design the building toy POXE. We began the design process by benchmarking existing logic puzzles and other similar ’brainy’ construction toys.
WHY? One of our main realizations was that many of these games work on the same principles, they have one particular way to be solved, and if their code is cracked it often gets boring, having lost its challenging thrill. Therefore we set ourselves the goal of creating a puzzle toy that is not solely centered on the mental challenge it poses but it is also possible to just casually play with it, as a stress relief activity.
HOW? A set consists of 8 cubes that can be assembled into a larger 2 x 2 one, so that the tubes running inside the clear epoxy resin show a closed shape.
