FELHŐ - Diabetic Shoe Design Concept 2021
WHY? Have you ever experienced uncomfortability or pain because of your shoes? Maintaining the health and hygiene of your feet is important but sometimes challenging on a daily basis. However, the fact you perceive pain prevents you from further complications. People with acute diabetes are missing this natural alarm. High blood sugar worsens blood circulation thus damaging the nerves, which leads to poor sensation in the feet.
WHAT? The shoe I designed for people with acute diabetes focuses to prevent all possible damages that can occur wearing a shoe, so that even without almost any sensation the health of the feet of users is maintained.
HOW? The design reflects the phenomenon that a diabetic foot tends to swell during the day, so the stripes on the side provide visual feedback on the tightness of the shoe to compensate for the lack of sensation. The upper part, which can be opened along the length of the shoe, fully provides smooth and effortless interaction for the user in any condition.
