"YOU HEAR, YOU SEE"

This is a 79"x12.5" illustration poster, requested by the "Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Costa Rica", client of Garnier BBDO, San José, Costa Rica. It was specially made for the movie theme concerts season.

This illustration borns from the stave and shows part of the modern interpretations that have made the "Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional" one of the most recognized in Costa Rica.  The one colored black stroke brings to life important movies of all times such as: 2001 A Space Odisey, The Godfather, A Clockworth Orange and many others where orchestral music played an important role.

The design represents the transformation of details from each symphony into musical notes.  As illustrator I adopted the role of a musician who interprets, in this case, a graphic composition where the notes
become new shapes born from what we listen and what we recognize.  The entire design is hand made, representing the craft process a musician follows when composing with paper and ink.  Several pencil
sketches outline details, characters and key elements of each interpretation always inspired in musical notes.

Finally, black ink brings to life the complete stave, a visual product of what imagination
does when one listens the "Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional".
