AERIE Backcountry Medicine

AERIE Backcountry Medicine (print and digital campaigns)
When we met Dave McEvoy, AERIE was a relatively new, Missoula-based educational organization, built on Dave’s desire to equip people with wilderness and rural medicine skills so they could travel confidently in the backcountry. AERIE’s courses were designed for MDs, RNs, PAs, and EMTs, as well as outdoor enthusiasts with no prior medical training. Led by professional educators who are active in the medical and rescue fields, AERIE’s training is based on the philosophy that individuals learn best when they are engaged in challenging, realistic scenarios, especially where resources are limited and access to outside care is minimal.

When Dave launched AERIE in 1995, he began teaching wilderness medicine classes with Missoula Emergency Services. At that time his competition was limited, not only on a local level, but nationwide. We positioned AERIE as personalized wilderness medicine education, built their ownership of that category with the tagline "When the best prepare for the worst", and approached our advertising and marketing materials with that firmly in mind.

We developed concepts and designs for kiosk posters, and created digital templates for the client to update as needed.
