Native Dancer is an autobiography by Maria Tallchief, a Native American woman and a prima ballerina from Oklahoma. The book jacket integrates ballet into a tribal pattern through the use of color and shapes. The pattern on the outside of the book jacket flows into the inside flaps making the design cohesive from front to back.
 
The quotes from book reviews are blended into the design on the back of the jacket, continuing the flow of the design.
