Thoughtfulness, or the idea of making thoughtfulness a visual concept is the inspiration for this project.
The intention of this project is to explore a new medium of expression in order to communicate a meaningful concept. The guerilla style method (conceptual 3-D book) creates an experience more memorable which helps translate the concept of the work. Getting people to confess their wrong doing, or even confess their acts
of kindness and binding them to make an impact perhaps it will contribute to the kindness movement. As a graphic designer, it is important to understand historical print processes. The idea of graphic design is to visually
communicate conceptual ideas and organize thoughts that need to be understood by a broad demographic while functioning visually to create an impact to the attention of each viewer. The artistic process of printmaking combined with the function and ideas of graphic design merge to create this project that captures attention with the goal of contributing ideas of “good” or “kindness” into society. The most important aspect of this project is to show a conceptual idea through the honesty of learning a new medium (printmaking). All flaws are accepted as a part of the experience of each step taken to complete the project. The audience can then explore new experiences in viewing the final result and will hopefully become inspired to create new ways of thinking and new methods of visually communicating change in today’s society.
Confessions were annonymously collected. As each print was made a new confession ate away at the photo (the human) showing what happens to humans when they hold things inside. With out the secrets the human is closer to being viewed as whole.
