The Tale of the Judge of Tản Viên Temple (Tản Viên từ phán sự lục) is a Vietnamese legend told in Casual Records of Transmitted Strange Tales (Truyền kỳ mạn lục) by Nguyễn Dữ in the 16th century. This is my illustration for an education animate series.
Ngô Tử Văn is an upright and vehement man who lives in Yên Dũng, Lạng Giang.

Ngô Tử Văn burned the temple, where the soul of the Chinese general lived.

The soul of the Chinese general appeared, warning Tử Văn.

The Earth God appeared, warning Van about the Chinese general...

...and instructing Tử Văn how to behave under Diayu.

The scene of the Nại Hà bridge, the soul that wants to go to hell must pass here.

Two Yaksha Ghosts escorted Tử Văn across Nai Ha bridge.

Tử Văn and the Chinese General in front of the King of Hell.

Tử Văn confronts the Chinese General before the King of Hell.

The Chinese General was thrown into the Great Hell.

Tử Văn returned to meet the Earth God. The Earth God promoted him to become a Judge at Tan Vien Temple.

Tử Văn gladly accepts and passes away. In 1414, an acquaintance of Tử Văn sees him riding a carriage in the mist outside of Dong Quan.
