The focus of this project was to create a series of four packages for a variety of the same product. My initial reaction was book sleeves, but I found myself researching different ways of packaging books and wound up being infatuated with the elegant book boxes that were and are still used for important/old books. After I decided that this was the direction I wanted to go, I wanted to create a monogram for the company and use that as the branding, but after it was created, it felt too heavy and out of date, so I decided on a simple, modern script that I created for the logotype.

Once that was done, I worked on the patterns for about a week, creating and tweaking the four until I was happy with the size, color, and the relationship between the four. From there, I began creating the boxes, which was quite a task. In order to create the boxes, I used canvas that I printed my pattern on around matboard, and cardstock paper for the lining of the box as well as the end pages of the books. Each book cover is the inverted pattern on the boxes, and the labels on each box is made from the paper that is inside each book.
