For as long as I can remember I have felt an unconditional love for animals, although my partners in life have always been dogs, I feel a predilection for them.
They force me daily to explore the wild paths near the area where we live. Even without knowing some areas well, I have let myself get guided by them, getting lost in those woods, and in the end those paths always end at the river. All paths lead to the river, isn't it funny?
We live amazing adventures, they are always in their hiking attire ready to go out with me.
They never let me down or contradict me, which is important in the days we live in. I can only feel happiness when I am with them.
Here I introduce you to my doggy family.

Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation and almost as good for the soul as prayer.

Shelby
Shelby, our boder collie at one month old.
At siesta time.
Here was two months old. Surely here he was thinking about what new mischief he would get up to.
His blue eyes changed within a month to brown-gray, isn't he cute?
Here he looks like never having destroyed a shoe before.
He is currently one year and two months old, but I only have these photos from when he was a puppy.
I would love to use the beautiful lights that autumn gives us to have new portraits of him.

Otto
Celebrating autumn.

Well, he wasn't really celebrating anything, he was just obeying my command, "stay still with that leaf in your mouth until I take this portrait". He is the sweetest thing I have.
He thinks he's the alpha dog, but the other dogs don't think so, even though they let him live with his daydreaming.
In the past, I photographed my dogs more often. To take pictures of them, I used to order them: "you stay still! don't move!".
Otto is such an obedient dog that he never forgot that command and every time he sees me with my camera, he sits in front of me waiting for the shot, even if it's not him I'm focusing on.

When I took this picture, we were near the river in a beautiful meadow, I was very still trying to photograph an insect, forgetting that Otto was close to me, and suddenly I see him trembling, exhausted from being so long without moving, like a statue, in the middle of those grasses. Isn't he adorable?
Oh my!, I had my sweet Otto next to me, giving me a beautiful portrait, and I didn't pay him any attention at all.
I hope when you see this picture, you will understand my feelings of guilt!
Late spring sunset at Caño de Escarabita. Santa María de Trassierra.

Sometimes, when I go for a walk with my dogs, I take my camera with me in case there is a beautiful scene. For example, here I found a beautiful scene: we were on our way home, and the sunset light in this meadow fascinated me! ... I liked how the field was illuminated in areas, and I thought it would be nice to put Otto in the scene.
He is a very obedient and docile dog, but if you detail his somewhat desperate look, you can understand that he wanted me to hurry, because he just wanted to run towards several nearby cows, and bark at them!
He was probably thinking at that moment, that they would leave and he wouldn't have time to tell them who is the real owner of those fields! ... that's how simple this story is! :)
I would love to take action shots of my dogs, but I always go out alone with them and would need a photo assistant, which I don't have. This is as close to "action" as I could get for Otto!.
Here he shows the opposite of who he is, that is, he's always going through those woods with lightning speed.
Here I show my two loves: in the foreground is Otto, and in the background the sparkling running waters of the Bejarano stream, one of the most relaxing places in the Sierra Morena.

Mindy
She is a "Podenco Andaluz", who was abandoned when she was 3 months old.
One December on my way home from work I heard some dog whining coming from under the ground. I saw that there was a water pipe that ran under the road and led to a well, so I called the firemen to rescue her.
I don't know if it was because of the amount of hours invested in feelings, but when I saw the fireman with her in his arms, I fell in love with her!
I did this portrait without human help, so it was the best I could do.

People say that this breed is one of the oldest, that the Egyptians already had them domesticated. If you look closely, she might remind of Anubis, don't you think?
My lovely mate Mindy, concentrating on catching the ball flying in front of her.
I placed the camera at ground level so that the surrounding cork oak forest could enter the scene. I find this place in the forest especially beautiful, you can feel the soft vibrations and the calmness it gives off.
I hope you like it.
