MIKROKOSMOS
Markus Bauer, Marina Widmann, 2012
In a tree-dimensional world we perceive reality stereoscopic and plastic. However, if you look at the environment from above, it appears to be plain. By photographing such topviews, what we see appears completely flat.
The so generated two-dimensional patterns have been folded using naturally given lines such as rivers, streets, cracks in the ground and so on.
By creating complete bodies using the gained structures, microcosms with a new three-dimensionality have been generated.
