Cocktails Made Easy
This project was untaken as our final year group project. It was in conjunction with Diageo. The brief that was set out for the project was quite broad and allowed us to investigate how consumers drink alcohol and what issues they have. The brief allowed us to completely redesign how people consume alcohol. The final statement of the brief was one that we tried to keep in mind throughout the entire process:
“How can we enhance the excitement and theatre that goes beyond consumption to celebration, to life, to culture.”

Pyrus is a new solution for creating cocktails. It comprises of the shaker and the liquid capsules. The capsules are placed into the shaker and are burst once the lid is secured. The capsules then mix and can be poured directly into a glass. This makes the process of creating cocktails much easier while ensuring that the measure and mixture is always correct.
We also created a system for selling the Pyrus products. We believe that the shaker and capsules could be sold directly to consumers for home use. Consumers would be able to purchase different cocktails without having to purchase a number of different bottles of alcohol and have a lot left over.
We also envisioned that the Pyrus products could be used in restaurants and cafes or even places dedicated to the use of Pyrus products. When using the products in these places, each table would be given a shaker and a menu with categories of capsules. The menu would be arranged in such a way that any combination of the categories would create a tastey and unique cocktail.
