India in black and white

India in black and white
Kerala and Goa
‘India in black and white’ is a contradictory term. If anything, India is full of colors and odors. I don’t really know if the persistence to shoot Indian people was either because they were totally unfamiliar or because they were utterly expressive. The truth is that the digital camera is more adequate for a place like this, since it captures the colors so vividly, that you can almost smell the aromas. But the black and white film, captures the feeling: melancholy, indolence, heat. Photos are taken with a Pentax SLR and a fixed 50mm lens. Developing and printing is self-made.
