The logic was simple enough -- in 2014, it wasn't so terribly easy to share music, especially long form playlists, in a format that didn't require using dropbox or a thumb drive. Better yet, in 2010 YouTube began a program of systematically extending the length threshold for videos posted on their site. Simultaneously, GoPros became affordable and ubiquitous. 

At the time, I was wandering a lot and, having no one to impress, I wasn't put off by the less than aesthetic burden of wearing a camera on my forehead while I wandered. 

Using an account created for a long-ago defunct micro music blog that supplanted my formal efforts as a music journalist, I began posting playlists of eclectic music layered over slowed, reversed, or generally distorted footage of the places I had been. 

Weirdly (to the tune of 23k viewers) people in the Pacific Northwest really got into it. I eventually suffered from the ASCAP crackdowns on propriety content that throttled embeds, but my musical tastes from 2013/2014 will live on in perpetuity.
