The “Euromaïdaner’s Alphabet”, 2013
I designed this alphabet it for those brave people who stood on Euromaïdan during events in Ukraine in 2013-2014. Thousands of people protested on the main square in Kyiv for months. They fought for dignity. Many died.
Ukrainians lived through a unique experience. So many extraordinary concepts were born during the Revolution of Dignity. As a designer, I wanted to capture it. I wished to give these people a good memory and a bit of laugh. So I designed the alphabet.
I came up with a symbolic word for each letter and added a description.
L “Lenin. The one who fell”.
M “Molotov Cocktail. That’s what we feed pro-russian police with”
My friends who stood on Maïdan helped me with brainstorming and proofreading.
