CUFA–WI Redesign

CITIZENS UNITED FOR ANIMALS–WISCONSIN
Identity & Website Redesign
For this project I was asked to redesign a non-profit website of my choosing that I felt was in need of an overhaul. As a dog owner and animal lover in general, I chose to redevelop the CUFA–WI identity and their somewhat off-putting and dated online presence.

In rebranding the image of the CUFA–WI site I really wanted to incorporate a lot more visual imagery that the user could connect to on a visceral level, where animals are represented as our companions and friends, whose ethical treatment is a necessity rather than an afterthought. The color palette is not threatening on the CUFA–WI site, however feels like it lends itself more so to the design for contemporary health, fitness, or ecology than animal rights activism. The original CUFA–WI website is quite bare and feels like the generic creation of some web design machine rather than someone with the user experience in mind.

That said, I wanted to rework the site into something that will be inviting and informative, as well as hopefully make Wisconsinites, and more specifically Milwaukeeans, want to get involved in the animal rights cause in their state and abroad.
