Christine Neuman-Ortiz studied as an Undergraduate at UW–Milwaukee and Madison, eventually traveling to Texas for her Masters in Chicano Studies. Voces de la Frontera formed in 2001 and since that time has evolved into a voice for collective action for local low-wage and immigrant worker's rights within the Milwaukee community and beyond. By revealing the power of the individual as an integral part of the struggle as a whole, Christine and her organization strive to enact social change in order to create a more progressive and just community in her city.
