The theme of the wines was to commemorate: an event of national importance, an Australian icon, Australian Heroes, an iconic work of Australian art, culture or history, I chose to commemorate Jackson Pollock and his 1952 piece 'Blue Poles' purchased by the National Gallery of Australia (NGA). 

 

 

I based the typography off a very small signature of Jackon Pollock, where I tried to recreate it in a way that was slightly more stylised to suit the wine bottles, but tried to stay true to the original signature. 

Along with the signature, I also create the text for the variatals and the vintage. 

Creating The Bottles
Bottles were then hand painted, in the same style as Pollock, and using a similar colour pallette to the 'Blue Poles' piece. There would only be 100 bottles created of each variatal.

A brochure was designed in order to give vistors an idea of how and why the bottles were made and who Jackson Pollock is. These brochures would be available to the public at tourist information centres, in the NGA's foyer and at other select locations.
