If you like driving then you should definitely rent a car and take the highway. On one side is the occean on the other side mountains/hills. Just awesome!

When an island is big enough and high enough it gets its own micro-climate. Tenerife is no exception. While you have plenty of sun on the beaches closer to the volcano is windy and you can touch the clouds. Temperature is also 10 degrees less.

It is volcanic island so you will see beaches with black sand. It is so smooth... And the color makes an interesting experience.
