Tourist Info Kiosk, Quebec City

MANDATE: To provide tourists in Quebec City the ability to discover and locate historic sites, festival venues, restaurants and bars, etc.

SOLUTION: Built for the City of Quebec, the creation of info kiosks are inspired by nautical imagery, harkening back to Quebec City's origins, and offering an enticing platform to help orient visitors. The nautical steering wheel controls the prompts on the screen, and offers an element of fun, encourages visitors to engage with the bourn.

The user starts by choosing the desired language, and the current temperature and weather forecast is shown. To navigate through the menu, the steering wheel is turned to the left or right. To accept a choice, the green button is pressed; to return to the previous choice, the red button is pressed.

The example shows the steps for locating a restaurant, with the possibility of adding other stopovers. A paper print with map and directions is printed out at the end and outputted through the print slot. The bourns are located at multiple locations throughout the Old Quebec area.
