Rustic Hand Lettered Save-the-Dates

As a designer, it is the most difficult thing to design things for yourself. My fiance and I are getting married in Montana in August, and I wanted our save-the-dates (and all our paper items moving forward) to feel authentic, fun and whimsical. Our wedding will be held at a ranch and the reception in a barn, and we wanted the invitations to be rustic and light-hearted, which is how we hope our wedding will be. I used some light kraft paper to evoke the rustic nature of our venue and hand-lettered our names as the focal point of the save-the-dates, surrounded by little illustrations and hand-drawn type inspired by American Typewriter. Rather than vectorizing, I wanted to keep the lines rough as they were in my original drawings for playfulness and authenticity. For the envelopes, continuing with the rustic theme, I used a hand-drawn typeface and a mix of typewriter for the return address and a sans-serif homemade stamp, and a sticker of us on New Year's to top it off.
