New York Film Academy Brand Identity

The New York Film Academy was founded on the philosophy that “learning by doing” combined with best industry practices is more valuable than years of theoretical study for filmmakers and actors. This educational model allows students to achieve more in less time than at all other film or acting schools in the world. The redesigned logo features four colors that make up a projection. The idea of projection was the inspiration behind the logo – particularly the multiple connotations that come to mind. First, the literal and more obvious interpretation of projecting a film on a screen, and, second, the notion of looking into the future. For current and prospective students, that future should appear as bright as the colors that make up the symbol.

The graphic element is derived from the projection symbol portion of the logo. The idea of the graphic element is to reinforce the idea of projection both in the literal and figurative senses. Note: This was a School of Visual Arts assignment. New York Film Academy’s original branding remains in place.
