Madrid has presented its candidacy for harboring the Olimpic Games in 1972, 2012, 2016 and 2020 being denied as headquarter all time. The last time with 74% (8,851 millions of public euros) of the facilities already built and available.
The Spanish Olympic Committee has decided not to present again in future editions, which will affect the present facilities that with no care could end up in ruins. On Friday 25th May 2012 the Board of Directors of Bankia asked for an injection of 19,000 millions of public euros for BFA (Bankia’s mother), a number that made the Bankia´s biggest financial rescue in the history of Spain and one of the biggest in Europe, (that added to 4,465 millions already granted the total was 23,465 millions of euros derived from state funds).
