$4.30 needed a new poster - and I had just under one week to do it! For an upcoming gig on Auckland Domain (on this Sunday at 1pm, if you're in the neighbourhood!) I had to rapidly brainstorm some ideas for the theme of 'Picnic in the Park', and - once they had decided which concept to go for - just as efficiently develop a finished poster for them, all in lovely vector art; all ready for hand-in on Friday! Working to a nice concrete deadline is a very good thing (concentrates the mind wonderfully, I find), and there's no time for slacking off....
1) The finished poster, featuring the principal cast members / mascots of $4.30
2) Vector character art from poster - cartoon bird, Harvey Cavemann, Sameena, Alex and Rob 1-X
3) Concept sketches from development pahse of poster, featuring all manner of interpretations of the central theme
4) The concept sketch chosen by the band for further development - a nice atypical composition, in their opinion
