Personal coat of arms of Martin Tashev - project description

The main concept of my coat of arms is about overcoming all difficulties in the name of our dreams. The slogan states "There is no everlasting winter", and the most common evidence of this is in nature. Even after the harshest winter, nature is waking up again to start a new beginning in spring. This is why we should never keep our heads down when facing difficulties that life throws at us. Inevitably faith will reward us greatly for our effort.

The figures on the shield are the main supporters of the idea. The three bees are a symbol of persistence and diligence, the tools needed for reaching every dream.

The eight-pointed star is a visualization of the dream itself, which is a starting point for every great deed. The star has eight points to show all eight directions of the world, similar to a compass.

The numbers of all the figures are not random. Three (the number of the bees) has always been considered a sacred number, which brings luck, and together with one (the number of the star), they show my date of birth - the 1st of March.

The helmet's crest consists of three snowdrops entangled around the red star. They carry some additional symbolism and also support the main concept. The snowdrops personify the new beginning and the wisdom which we gain after overcoming life's difficulties.

There is a biblical story telling how after Adam and Eve have been expelled from Heaven a fierce winter covered the land. Both of them have been forced to walk the Earth without any shelter but along the journey, an angel appeared in front of Eve and told her that the winter will soon end. After the angel vanished snowdrops grew on the spot it stood. Show drops carry
the symbol of wisdom because they are the first flowers that break through the thick snow to show us that spring is near. The snowdrops are three to remind the idea behind the symbols from the shield.

Of course, all the colors in the coat of arms are not randomly selected. Green (vert) represents hope and loyalty, and also constant change and development, because in nature the green color is the one who is most shifting. The silver (argent) color is a symbol of sencerity, peace with others and ones self, and of the truth. Gold (or) is the simbow of prosperity and wellbeing which we all are striving for. Red symbolizes the passion and motivation, which dreams bring us. It is also a symbol of my name - Martin, meaning child of Mars.
