The Ox (2023)
A lonely teenager wants to join the ranks of a local motorcycle club, but first he must win the approval of its tyrannical and perverted leader.
"The Ox" was funded primarily by the Society of the Creative School. An executive producer from a top advertising company topped me off with a private donation. Prior to production, I spent my summer working two jobs so that I could afford additional costs.

The Firkin on Yonge became the vessel for the opening scene of the film. A large portion of the background actors were my friends from the service industry. I am so grateful for my fearless crew - each member was indispensable.
I have included some stills from the raw footage. The current colour grade does not represent the final film. The cinematographer, Christopher Lawrence, employed the use of vintage lenses and dreamy filters to give the film a distinct look. We selected monochromatic colour palettes and, at times, grungy low-key lighting.

Notice that when Boon and Pete are alone together, the colour palette hinges on cooler tones, such as green and blue. When they are interacting with other characters, such as Jennifer or the bikers, the colour palette is much warmer.
Scene A: "Leg Infection"
Boon's gang of devoted bikers, known as 'The Oxen,' hang around in a bar. It's Boon's birthday and they cannot wait to surprise him with a cake they made. Unfortunately, Boon resigns the moment he sits down - all because of a supposed parasitic worm in his leg.
Scene B: "Boon Meets Pete"
Scene C: "Tricycle"
Scene D: "Liar, Liar, Jacket on Fire"
Scene E: "Jennifer Arrives"
Scene F: "Beersocket"
Scene G: "The Threesome"
Scene H: "Take This and Go"
The patch, pictured below, was designed by me. I ordered a bunch so that key cast members, crew members, and investors could have a souvenir from the film.
I've included some preliminary storyboards. These were used to give the funders an impression of what I was going for. I also wanted to demonstrate my commitment and appetite for the project.
Thank you.
