Located in the Southern China, being one of the most important border to the Southeast Asia, Qinzhou city was appointed as the only harbour with duty free zones served for ASEAN (Assosiation of Southest Asian Nations). With the backgrounds of profound Chinese cultural imperatives and its high-speed economic growth with the connections of neighbouring countries, the hotel, in the heart of the city, was intented to adapt and accomodate International business and tourism events.

Rather than applying orthodox design orders and decoration elements into the space, the design was perceived by embeding local culture and minimal abstract arts. To reveal express the unforgettable fishery culture,  " Wave " as a design idea was taken from traditional perception of woodcut drawings and integrated into the design with a multi-dimensional spatial experience. With advanced computational fabrication methods and fiberglass molding technique, flat woodcut drawings were brought into another level of visualisation. Fishery scenes were also reinterpretated into abstract sardine clouds through the spaces from lobby to corridors on upper levels of the hotels with the use of distributed polished metal stripes along the trajetories.
