The translation of a commercially available thermoformed plastic stool into wood is the starting point of the project. The shape of the stool reinterprets the lines of the plastic object and translates them into wood. As the two materials do not have the same properties, the difficulty lies in how to make the joints that are essential for the seat to hold properly.
The stool is therefore made up of several parts. Firstly, the beechwood legs, which are joined together to hold the birch plywood buttresses together. These ensure the stability of the object and the maintenance of the seat, also made of solid beech wood. The parts are assembled by interlocking without nails nor screws.

La traduction en bois d'un tabouret en plastique thermoformé disponible dans le commerce est le point de départ du projet. La forme du tabouret réinterprète les lignes de l'objet en plastique et les réinterprète en bois. Les deux matériaux n'ayant pas les mêmes propriétés, la difficulté réside dans la réalisation des assemblages indispensables à la bonne tenue de l'assise.
Le tabouret est donc composé de plusieurs parties. Tout d'abord, les pieds en hêtre, qui sont reliés entre eux pour maintenir les contreforts en contreplaqué de bouleau. Ces derniers assurent la stabilité de l'objet et le maintien de l'assise, également en hêtre massif. Les pièces sont assemblées par emboîtement sans clous ni vis.
