Andrew Hnutov's profile

My name is Andrew Hnutov. I was born in Luhansk. My family and I left it in the summer of 2014 when my city was occupied by the russian army. On the 24th of February 2022 russia attacked all of Ukraine. Kharkiv, the city that has become my new home, was bombarded.

Now every house in Kharkiv and Ukraine is in danger. And I want to keep all the beautiful things in our brave country. I start from a sign placed on the building on Pavlivska sq., 1/3 in Kharkiv. Univermag Font is based on the outdoor signboard at Kharkiv TSUM. The building was created by architect Movshovich in 1952. Letter “Y” has a unique form due to a design problem — a small window under the roof. Such simple corrections made the signboard more Ukrainian.

Everybody who wants to keep the Ukrainian legacy, join me and create projects based on signs, buildings, monuments, parks, and everything you like. Share it on Behance, Instagram, and TikTok, and use the hashtag #keep_visual.
