Coasters are usually a mundane everyday object, they keep tables clean and are the means of choice to bridge boring conversations by building houses. These typographic coasters designed by Schmid/Widmaier are different. None of the characters designed especially for this project conforms to the norm; each has its own expression, its own character. Thus, these coasters celebrate not only good form but also difference: only when many apparent opposites come together does a great whole emerge - the House of Type. The set consists of 15 coasters, printed on both sides, enough to build a classic house of cards, and an additional title to access the AR version, which includes more letterforms and animations.
