A Round Around
I've been experimenting with 3D illustrations for some time, but have always been reluctant to publish the results. The approach I have taken is anything but realistic: I have simply tried to do what I normally do in terms of composition, shapes, textures, brushes and use of colour, with an extra dimension to play with.
Finding a theme to work with was not a big problem: one of my strongest sources of inspiration came from vintage posters and advertisements, especially those for Martini, Campari and many other liquor brands. Cocktails are more than just mixtures of spirits, flavours and aromas. They bring together places, stories, traditions and cultures, and what better way to bring all these elements together in a few compositions?
This series will guide you through some of the most iconic Italian cocktails and the places they come from.
