The 5 Stages of Grief in Taylor Swift Lyrics

This typography beginner's class called for us to design a zine. We were given the artistic freedom to choose our own content, layout, and binding method. I decided to do a zine about my favourite lyrics in Taylor Swift's songs, as a huge fan of her music. I bound it using the coptic binding method.
The Whole Zine
While designing the zine, I realised a common theme among her songs. They often cover at least one of the five stages of grief.

To me, DENIAL involves a lot of repetition, telling myself that it isn't true, reciting some sort of mantra as a way of coping the first blow.

ANGER is all over the place. Being one, if not the strongest, of emotions, it is hard to be in control of myself when I am angry. I picture shouting, exclamations and words running across the page.

REGRET is characterised by imagining the what could've, would've or should've been. And having to accept the loss, that it is never to be.

DEPRESSION is dark, lonely and empty.

Finding HOPE is like after experiencing an epiphany. My mind is clearer, sometimes I feel like I am floating and reaching towards something bigger and better.
