HASTAHANA Park in Sarajevo

The main idea of the concept is to combine the old and new culture of staying in the public space of Hastakhan,
combining different functions of this site based on the current situation. The second main task for us was to use
the outdoor parking area as a place to relax and enjoy the magnificent landscapes of Sarajevo, the outdoor
amphitheater creates an additional function and a new silhouette of the city.
Taking into account different social and age groups of the population, we create and supplement new scenarios
of this entertaining public space:
1. Skateboarding zone, deepened into the ground of the base for comfortable differentiation of visitors
2. Sports zone including table tennis, sports equipment, basketball court with the possibility of transformation
into a hockey field in winter
3. An exhibition area preserving the Sternenweg sculpture and the ability to place additional temporary
expositions
4. A quiet area including a children's playground and a more peaceful - green area
The new space creates many possible scenarios such as city fairs, performances of musicians, watching films
outdoors, concerts. And the skate area can be used in winter as a public skating rink with a rental point.
The main entrances to the park are from the streets of Maršala Tita, Kranjčevičeva, Magribija.
All elements of the landscaping are made of recycled materials taking into account hedonistic sustainability.
